Case of the Broken Copic

Copic Markers are the pinnacle of markers for serious Manga Artists and the like and for me who is an avid fan, I get my markers online from my favorite suppliers Artmedia Trading , Great Toys online and Artillery. Today’s adventure is with the great people of Artillery.

So, I preordered some copics way back Late February from their site.  I got about 6 markers, 2 refills and packs of my favorite paper and pad and was excited when they came in the mail today. They have updated me that it was shipped the night before and I was giddy when it came early morning.  I checked everything and was shocked that one of the copics had a cracked barrell and the whole thing came out when I pulled off the cover!

I have never seen the inside of the copic before so I was shocked to see it. I was upset at first, but figured it was in the shipping, but i remembered that they had everything in neat little boxes and bubble wrap. So I contacted them and immediately, Tray of Artillery replied that this was the first time it happened to them too. They promised to replace the copic or give me an additional sketch marker as well.

WHEW! That eased my worry and Well with a little bit of electric tape, I also can work with my R59 Marker.

Thanks Artillery for the fast and great service.

I’ve been Trolled!

Today, I have been trolled. It was rather cute. Thanks Troll!

I agree with critiques. Even if they are as unkind as the one I got in this blog a few days ago. I agree that I have lack of skill, that I still have much to learn and that I shouldn’t quit my day job (don’t worry, I can’t even if i wanted to). My anatomy sucks (yep, agreed again — it’s a love-hate relationship, me and anatomy!) and I generally still suck!

That means I still I have a lot to learn. I still am growing as an artist, that is a given and I am a hobbyist who wanted a chance at commissions. (and believe me, I get commissioned.) What is in this blog is my opinion and what I know.

So what gives anyone the right to clip my wings and not try at the very least to share what I can? Thanks for the opinion. It brought me encouragement to try harder – but for trolls, i think they are rather hard to please. ( you know, them disliking everything) so, I’d like this to be an encouragement to all other normal beings out there.

And for the record, I haven’t really put my new stuff here, (been lazy to) so! ( I should though) So here’s a few of the copic works that I have ( still have NOT uploaded my watercolor works) to show that I ahve been working (though lurking) at this place. I will though, upload some of my watercolor studies today so watch for itEratofinal ZhravenandPuck

[Video] Inking and Coloring the Peak Spider with Graphic Markers

Every now and then, I do video myself working. Here is how I ink and color a character from Yowamushi Pedal (a biking anime/manga which I adore now). His name is Makishima Yuusuke AKA the Peak Spider and he’s my favorite character in the whole series.

The actual time of this video was about 1:07 (an hour and seven minutes according to the capture). And I got it down to about 8 minutes plus the extras I added.

I need to learn more editing so I can do more helpful videos. But I hope you like my coloring and inking process. I am not perfect so I may have mistakes so forgive me?
